About The Position

The Nursing Assistant II (NA II) is an entry-level position specifically designed for current nursing students aiming to enrich their preparation for a nursing career. Under the guidance of an experienced nurse, you will acquire valuable hands-on experience by providing safe, efficient, age-specific care to patients and families in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and/or sustain optimal health status. The role is built upon the experience gained in the classroom and during clinical rotations.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in a Diploma RN, Associate, Bachelor or Master’s degree of Nursing
  • Successful completion of a hands-on, direct patient care clinical through a Registered Nurse Program
  • Most up-to-date transcripts must be uploaded with application
  • Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice.
  • Successful completion of a Nursing Fundamentals course required.
  • Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies (i.e. stethoscope, thermometers, glucometers, and electronic monitoring devices).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Current enrollment in an accredited A.D.N. nursing program required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience on a related unit or specialty in a practicum, internship or STNA/PCNA/NAII is preferred
  • Current enrollment in a BSN nursing program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct patient care delivery, including, but not limited to: ADLs/hygiene, Vital signs, I&O, Bladder scanning, EKG, Glucometer & other point of care testing (where applicable) and Restraints
  • Communication and documentation of interventions and observations
  • Participation in quality improvement process
  • Involved in learning and self-improvement
  • Initiates and maintains a positive relationship with patients/customers and coworkers
