About The Position
The Instrument Repair Shop is looking for student employees who can work well independently and with others to help inventory and maintain The Center for Music’s instrument collection. This role involves checking instruments in and out, assigning lockers, inspecting instruments for playability, and maintaining inventory and locker organization. The assistant will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining brass, woodwind, string instruments, accessories, and cases.
Requirements
- General knowledge of Brass, Woodwind, and String instruments
- Must be Customer service oriented
- Willing to enforce facilities policies
- Early morning availability (7:30am)
Nice To Haves
- General knowledge of Windows Desktop and File Maker Pro helpful but not required
- Center for Music students preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Checking in/out band instruments and accessories using FileMaker database
- Assigning instrument lockers
- Inspecting instruments for playability
- Maintaining instrument inventory and instrument lockers
- Cleaning and maintaining Brass, Woodwind, String instruments, Accessories, and Cases
