About The Position

This role is responsible for leading and developing the Student Ministry (SSM) at the Irvine South campus. The Student Ministry Pastor will oversee weekend worship services, small groups, volunteer management, events, and communication to students, parents, and leaders. The position requires a passionate follower of Jesus who is dedicated to discipling students and equipping volunteers.

Requirements

  • Current or past Student ministries experience
  • College or equivalent ministry experience preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Programming the SSM service and preparing the message.
  • Creating a warm, inviting environment for Jr High and High School students.
  • Equipping the weekend leader team (students & adults) to execute the weekend experience.
  • Ensuring SSM Small Groups are offered during the school year, including program preparation, student development, and working with host homes.
  • Providing pastoral care and family support as needed.
  • Creating discipleship tools for parents connected to the Life Group content.
  • Equipping small group leaders and gender specific adult leaders to help, encourage and develop students in their faith.
  • Recruiting and onboarding all new volunteers.
  • Facilitating training and fellowship for volunteers.
  • Caring for and shepherding leaders.
  • Scheduling SSM leaders.
  • Creating and executing a strategic SSM event calendar with a focus on connection and outreach.
  • Scheduling student baptisms and Parent Events.
  • Sending monthly Parent emails and weekly leader emails.
  • Creating promotional materials for the ministry.
  • Remaining in communication with the campus team and SSM central team.
  • Managing the SSM budget.
  • Data entry in Rock (church database) for baptisms, salvation, attendance, etc.
  • Managing ministries in Rock (church database).
  • Attending weekly campus staff meetings, monthly SSM meetings, and monthly all staff meetings.
  • Helping with additional campus responsibilities.
