About The Position

The Student Manager schedules, coordinates, and supervises the functions of the Aquatics staff, including coordination of hiring, training, and performance evaluation of the student staff, maintaining safety standards, and creating a positive, active experience for all patrons of the Aquatics Center. They may also perform the duties of a Lifeguard as needed. This position reports to the MCCH Aquatics Center Coordinator. They are responsible to the Student Employment Coordinator and Payroll Coordinator for the University Centers.

Requirements

• Must be available to work up to 15 hours per week during the semester.
• Must maintain regular office hours.
• Must attend weekly staff meetings and events as necessary, including weekend and evening shifts.
• Must attend a SuperStaff retreat once a semester.
• Must attend monthly mandatory SuperStaff meetings.
• Some work over breaks may be necessary.
• Must be available for at least two (2) weeks prior to the beginning of each semester.
• Must be able to supervise staff and work without direct supervision.
• Must be at least a part-time student (enrolled in a minimum of 6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits).
• Must be in good academic standing (cumulative and semester GPAs of 2.0 or higher) at the time of hiring and throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as an Aquatics Center Lifeguard or similar role.
• At least two semesters remaining at UWSP.
