About The Position

Bergen Community College is seeking a Student Life & Conduct Generalist for its Paramus campus. This position reports to the Coordinator of Student Conduct. The responsibilities include supervising the Student Leadership Commons area, managing student staff, providing information on student organizations and events, facilitating event and poster requests, preparing student staff payroll documentation, assisting in the development of student programs, guiding student staff in program development, supporting student organizations in program planning and usage of the Student Leadership Commons, tracking student conduct record requests, preparing and presenting workshops, representing Student Life on committees, assisting with major college events, providing front-end office coverage, and supervising off-campus events. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree required
  • Experience in the Student Affairs field
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Public speaking/presentation skills
  • Experience with standard office computer programs
  • Experience with event coordination in a college environment

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Student Leadership Commons area, including managing student staff, providing information regarding student organizations and events, facilitating event support requests, and facilitating poster/publicity requests.
  • Prepare student staff payroll documentation for the Office of Student Life and Conduct.
  • Assist in developing a series of student programs for the Student Leadership Commons area.
  • Guide student staff in developing student-run programs, both online and in-person.
  • Provide support and guidance to student organizations in the planning of their programs (online and in-person) and appropriate usage of the Student Leadership Commons.
  • Track the intake and execution of student conduct record requests.
  • Prepare and present workshops to various student groups.
  • Represent Student Life on specialized committees and working groups where appropriate.
  • Assist in major College events such as, but not limited to, Orientation, Campus Safety Day, Commencement and SGA Judiciary events.
  • Provide front-end office coverage in the Office of Student Life and Conduct.
  • Supervise and facilitate off-campus events.
