About The Position

The Grinnell Press Co-Editor-in-Chief is responsible for leading the Grinnell Press publication cycle and organization. They co-lead the semesterly publication cycle, which includes leading the selection and hiring of Press content creators, coordinating editors' and content creators' collaborative book project, supporting Press staff by providing peer mentoring and assistance with projects, and coordinating with supervisor and printers to print books each semester. The co-Editor-in-Chief is also responsible for managing Press social media, outreach, and events that publicize Press's work and present creative opportunities for the student body. Editors-in-Chief are also charged with annual organization processes, such as managing and advocating for Press's budget, hiring Press editors and editors-in-chief on an annual basis, and other organizational needs that are coordinated with the Department of Student Involvement.

Requirements

  • Must be organized.
  • Possess strong project management skills.
  • Possess strong communication skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Publication experience.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe InDesign.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students and supervisor on projects.
  • Problem-solving skills for creative situations.
  • Project management experience.
  • Outreach experience.
  • Willingness to actively work with other student publications to maintain and promote creative publishing opportunities for students.
