About The Position

This role involves providing IT support to faculty, staff, and graduate students within the FSHN department, maintaining departmental websites and digital media, assisting with workflow automation using tools like Microsoft Power Automate and PowerApps, and supporting instructional accessibility by formatting presentations to meet ADA standards. The position offers structured training and growth opportunities, including potential participation in the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador program.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a UF student in good standing.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Available to work 10–15 hours per week.
  • Able to commit to at least two consecutive semesters.
  • Must be able to work on UF’s main campus.
  • Ideally pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Web Design, Media Production, Educational Technology, or Instructional Design/Instructional Technology.
  • Students from other majors with relevant technical experience are encouraged to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to troubleshoot basic computer hardware and software problems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint.
  • Comfort working across Windows, macOS, and/or iOS environments.
  • Basic familiarity with HTML.
  • JavaScript experience a plus, not required.
  • Exposure to GenAI tools such as Microsoft Copilot or UF NaviGator AI Suite.
  • Curiosity about low-code automation tools like Power Automate or PowerApps.
  • Comfort with Canva or other basic design tools.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist department faculty, staff, and graduate students with basic hardware and software challenges.
  • Maintain FSHN department website(s) and digital media site with accurate, up-to-date content.
  • Assist in designing and building simple automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate and PowerApps.
  • Use Generative AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, UF NaviGator AI Suite) to support document drafting, data summarization, and process documentation.
  • Collaborate with FSHN faculty to format and refine PowerPoint presentations for instructional settings.
  • Ensure faculty slide materials meet ADA accessibility standards.
