About The Position

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) is seeking Student Involvement/Student Affairs Staff Assistants to play a vital role in fostering a welcoming and inclusive campus environment. These student employees will deliver high-quality customer service to students, staff, and guests, supporting the daily operations of the Office of Student Involvement and the Office of Student Affairs. Responsibilities include administrative tasks, customer service, event support, and special projects. This position offers a unique opportunity for students to develop career-readiness skills while contributing to a vibrant campus community.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled full-time in an Undergraduate or Graduate Day Program at SNHU.
  • Work Study part of financial aid package.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools and handling telephone communications.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for the office, welcoming and assisting visitors with professionalism and care.
  • Perform administrative tasks including scheduling via Microsoft Outlook, answering phones, managing shared email accounts, scanning, filing, and data entry.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate responsible behavior while handling sensitive information.
  • Adhere to dress code and arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
  • Answer telephone calls clearly and courteously; take accurate messages and direct inquiries appropriately.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty in both written and verbal formats.
  • Collaborate with staff and fellow student employees on departmental events such as Orientation, Opening Weekend, and Homecoming.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings and participate in staff development and appreciation events.
  • Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills when managing tasks or addressing visitor needs.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Contribute to an inclusive office culture by valuing diverse perspectives and supporting engagement opportunities that foster a sense of belonging for all students.
  • Participate in training that supports equity, inclusion, and cultural awareness.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay range of $13.00 - $15.00
