About The Position

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) is seeking Student Involvement Staff Assistants to provide high-quality customer service to the SNHU community. These roles are crucial in building community and supporting peers in finding a sense of belonging at SNHU. This specific position will work with the Assistant Director of Online Honor Societies, focusing on tasks within the online honor society space. The Staff Assistants are expected to be self-motivated, maintain a positive attitude, and serve as role models for their peers. They will also be responsible for attending all shifts on time, wearing designated attire on campus, and creating an inclusive community. Learning opportunities will focus on SNHU's five values: Community, Continual Improvement, Inclusivity, Integrity, and Teamwork.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program.
  • Work study part of financial aid package.
  • Must be able to lift/carry approx. 25lbs.
  • Campus driver approval will also be needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in difficult situations with little supervision.
  • Maintain a positive attitude during all shifts and be a role model for peers.
  • Arrive at all shifts on-time and stay until the end of the shift.
  • Wear appropriately designated and provided attire (campus).
  • Create and support an inclusive community.
  • Attend 1:1 meeting with supervisor and employee appreciation events.
  • Comfort using a variety of technologies, or a strong willingness to learn new systems and software.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and managing shared department inboxes.
  • Responding to student inquiries.
  • Forwarding all correspondence into the university’s customer relationship management tool (Unify) and closing out the case in Unify.
  • Answering calls.
  • Assisting students and staff.
  • Filing.
  • Scheduling meetings.
  • Greeting visitors to the office (campus) or SNHUconnect (online), assisting with requests and questions.
  • Answering online honor society questions both via email and phone.
  • Data input.
  • Sorting honor society regalia.
  • Attending to the SNHUconnect honor society pages.
  • Assisting with large departmental projects and programs throughout the year, including Honor Society Recruitment Cycles, Honor Society Recognition Ceremony, Opening Weekend, Involvement/Engagement Fairs, Fall Leadership Conference, Homecoming Weekend, LEADS Conference, Penmen Pursuits Awards, Leadership Awards, and Orientation.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • Collaborating and working alongside the Assistant Director of Online Honor Societies.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay range of $13.00 - $15.00.
