About The Position

Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is looking for a Student Intern to provide support to an assigned department. This support may include health education, patient engagement, clerical support, event support, or other assigned duties. The intern will participate in and support the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of services in accordance with contractual and departmental requirements and guidelines. Specific assignments will vary depending on program, grant, and patient demographics, with a focus on providing community-based healthcare services to the medically underserved. FHCSD was founded by community activists working towards a common goal: caring, affordable, high-quality medical care for all. We are proud to continue this mission today as we provide accessible services to over 210,000 patients across San Diego County. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to community medicine and providing culturally competent care to the medically underserved.

Requirements

• Applicants must be full-time students at a local high school, vocational program, job readiness program, or an accredited college or university with at least a 2.0 semester/quarter grade point average (GPA).
• Pursuing a degree or have completed a program from an accredited university within the last year.
• Interest in FHCSD’s mission and vision
• Must be from an approved affiliated program
• Must meet organizational medical and background clearance requirements.
