About The Position

Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is excited to offer a unique internship opportunity for Master’s-level students seeking hands-on experience in a specialized mental health setting. The internship runs from May/August 2026 through May 2027, with flexibility around start and end dates to accommodate academic schedules. While this is an unpaid internship, we provide clinical supervision and will collaborate with your academic program to ensure you receive credit toward your degree. Interns are expected to commit 16–18 hours per week, with flexibility to align with school requirements. The schedule follows the supervisor’s availability: Monday & Tuesday: Virtual (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM) Wednesday & Thursday: In-person (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM) Join our Youth Autism & IDD Counseling Center (AICC-Y), where you’ll gain valuable experience providing individual, family, and group therapy to youth ages 6–21 with intellectual and developmental disabilities. AICC-Y offers comprehensive outpatient services, including therapy, medication management, and case management, all tailored to meet the unique needs of dually diagnosed youth. As an intern, you’ll be an integral part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. You’ll participate in team meetings, receive professional development, and learn adaptive, evidence-informed therapeutic strategies. Requirements

  • Master’s-level student
  • Required Vaccination and TB Test.
  • Annual influenza (flu) shot.
  • Negative TB test result before first day of work.
