Student Intern 2027 - Transportation Design
About The Position
Stanley Consultants is seeking a talented Student Intern to join their Transportation Market in the Chicago, IL office. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in various general civil engineering tasks, including drainage design, highway and airfield design, and civil engineering site design projects for local, national, and international clients. The intern will work on transportation-related design and drafting using specialized software, collaborate with senior designers to solve engineering problems, and may occasionally be involved in field-related tasks. The position also involves preparing and checking design computations and quantity estimates.
Requirements
- Must have attained a minimum status of a college Sophomore
- Current and active enrollment in a four-year college or university
- Must be actively pursuing a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
- Must possess strong communication skills
- Possess experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge of Microstation or AutoCAD software is preferred
- Previous experience with engineering design and analysis software is a plus
Responsibilities
- Transportation related design and drafting tasks using Bentley - OpenRoads Designer, Roadway Design Software
- Work closely with senior designers and design teams to solve engineering problems and produce high quality design documents
- Occasional field related tasks
- Preparation and checking of design computations and quantity estimates
