About The Position

Under close supervision, provides technical assistance and support to OC San staff for network, hardware, and software issues. Works with staff to provide technical assistance as requested, providing training on software and hardware use, determining causes of malfunctions through root cause analysis with the assistance of OC San IT staff. Conducts research and provides support for the development of current and new projects within the IT department. Specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the major functions within the IT division.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Full-time college student of at least junior level in good standing in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program in a field of study related to the OC San activities.
  • Valid California Class C Driver’s License.
  • Undergraduate and graduate students must be enrolled full-time at a college or university, be in good standing, and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or better to be eligible for a paid internship with OC San.
  • Only students who have at least one year of school remaining will be considered.
  • Verification of enrollment from the registrar's office indicating "student in good standing" prior to employment with OC San.
  • Applicants must provide a letter of recommendation from a professor, previous employer or internship supervisor as part of their application.

Nice To Haves

  • Majoring in Information Technology or closely related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint and Windows 10 operating system.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and effectively manage time.
  • Customer service oriented and experience working in a customer service driven environment.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and effectiveness in working within a team environment.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and promote strong relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Familiarity with software installations as well as basic network and computer configurations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with user requests for service, troubleshoot issues and help develop solutions.
  • Support PC hardware components, desktop operating systems, and applications.
  • Record activities, solutions, and other responses to incidents and service requests within ticketing application.
  • Work with vendors, perform research and evaluate products to assist with the selection and purchase of system upgrades.
  • Assist with user training for hardware and software.
  • Assists with maintaining records within inventory management application and client management application.
  • Assists with the creation of automated scripts to perform software installs, uninstalls, and other common operating system processes.
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned.
