About The Position

The Hardware Design Engineering Intern will join a specialized R&D hardware team focused on developing advanced AI hardware solutions for Celestica. Throughout this four-month on-site internship in Austin, Texas, the intern will engage in full-lifecycle product development, taking designs from initial concept to production. This role emphasizes hands-on design work and active collaboration with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineering, signal integrity, thermal, software, test engineering, and project leadership to ensure robust and high-quality product development.

Requirements

Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, with a core focus on hardware development
Strong foundational knowledge of electrical engineering principles, circuit design, and hardware engineering techniques
Working knowledge of schematic capture tools, experience with Cadence OrCad is a plus
Familiarity with advanced PCB design software Cadence Allegro, is highly preferred
Self-motivated and capable of completing complex technical assignments in a dynamic environment with aggressive development schedules

Responsibilities

Research system concepts and evaluate new component requirements for advanced PCB designs
Execute schematic capture and assist in the creation of system specifications, bills of material, diagrams, and drawings
Perform hands-on testing, board bring-up, and hardware troubleshooting within our lab.
Collaborate with internal teams to validate designs for signal integrity, thermal management, and circuit performance.
Provide engineering support throughout the manufacturing and validation processes of the products being developed.
