About The Position

The Signal Integrity Engineering Intern will gain hands-on experience by supporting the planning, simulation, lab verification, and troubleshooting of digital PCB designs. In this role, you will assist in critical design reviews for signal integrity and work closely with global, cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, industrial design, and project leadership. You will work alongside experienced engineers to research system ideas, support schematic capture, and validate electrical systems, contributing to robust and high-quality product development from the early design phases through manufacturing support.

Requirements

Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, in their third year of study.
Foundational knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, and high-speed digital PCB design principles.
Familiarity with or a strong desire to learn industry-standard SI/PI simulation software including: SI Tools: Keysight ADS, ANSYS toolsuite (HFSS, SIWave, Designer), Synopsys Hspice, Siemens HyperLynx, Polar Si8000, or Cadence/Sigrity System SI. PI Tools: Cadence Sigrity Power SI, Power DC, Optimize PI.
Basic understanding of or coursework involving high-frequency lab measurement equipment, such as: Keysight, Tektronix, or LeCroy real-time and sampling oscilloscopes. Vector Network Analyzers (VNA) and Time Domain Reflectometers (TDR).
Introductory knowledge of high-speed compliance standards (e.g., PCIe Gen5/Gen6, Ethernet, USB 3.0, SAS/SATA).
Experience with numerical computing environments like MATLAB.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively within team structures.

Responsibilities

Assist in the development of electrical systems, contributing to system architectures, schematics, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
Perform signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) simulations to help evaluate design trade-offs based on performance and manufacturability.
Support the validation and characterization of systems by assisting with lab testing of high-speed digital interfaces and correlating simulation data with physical measurement results.
Help execute physical layer compliance testing to ensure circuit designs meet industry standards.
Participate in design reviews to incorporate feedback regarding testing, supply chain, and reliability while working with internal stakeholders and vendors.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including test reports, analysis summaries, and project updates to support engineering decisions.
