This position is for a Student Intern in Food Services at the Joliet Job Corps Center.

Requirements

• Must be current student attending Joliet Job Corps Center.
• Some school/training in food preparation.
• 90 days on center.
• Aptitude for cafeteria-type duties.
• Dress to comply with sanitation regulations.
• Valid food handler’s permit if required by the state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the supervisor, food services or designee.
• Assists with cleaning and sanitizing the facility, in compliance with government and management directives.
• Wash dishes and stock supplies to the services line.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation area, dining area, serving lines, and dish room; comply with health standards.
• Provide positive, quality customer service to students, staff and other center customers.
• Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
• Participate in student employability programs and activities.
• Promote the development of career success standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
• Maintain accountability of property; adhere to safety practices; attend all required staff training.
