About The Position

MTC is proud to operate the Joliet Job Corps Center in Joliet, IL where our staff provide quality services to our local youth. This position reports to the facility maintenance manager or designee and is responsible for the completion of a wide variety of tasks to include keeping assigned areas clean and orderly in compliance with government and management directives.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with basic cleaning compounds, waxes, and disinfectants.
  • Experience with grounds maintenance (weeding, mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, spraying).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and preserve all flooring and/or covering by scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing and sweeping surface.
  • Clean and sanitizes restrooms and associated fixtures.
  • Wash walls, windows, ceilings and woodwork. Dusts desks, bookshelves, cabinets and other office furniture.
  • Collect and dispose of all trash, litter, and other debris on grounds, streets and parking lots. Sweep and clean exterior steps, entrances, landings and sidewalks.
  • Use basic cleaning compounds, waxes and disinfectants as provided by supervision.
  • Maintain center appearance and preserve all improved grounds by cleaning, weeding, mowing, trimming, sprinkling, fertilizing, reseeding or planting. Maintain all trees or shrubs by pruning, trimming and spraying.
  • Participate in student employability programs and activities.
  • Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
  • Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
