About The Position

The Mathematics Student Grader supports faculty within the Department of Mathematics by assisting with the grading of assignments, quizzes, exams, and other course-related materials. This position requires strong attention to detail, mathematical proficiency, confidentiality, and the ability to apply instructor-provided grading standards accurately and consistently.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Assist faculty with grading homework assignments, quizzes, exams, projects, and other course-related materials according to instructor guidelines.
  • Prepare and verify answer keys and grading materials as directed by the course instructor.
  • Apply grading rubrics consistently and accurately while maintaining fairness and objectivity.
  • Complete grading assignments within established timelines and deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records of grading activities and submitted materials.
  • Identify outstanding work, common errors, or potential academic integrity concerns and report observations to the instructor as appropriate.
  • Communicate professionally with faculty regarding grading assignments, expectations, and deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student grades, records, and academic information.
  • Assist with organizing course materials and instructional resources as needed.
  • Perform other academic support duties as assigned.
  • Report directly to the assigned course instructor.
