About The Position

The Student Financial Aid Budget Analyst supports the Office of Student Financial Aid through budget analysis, financial reporting, reconciliation, and operational financial oversight. This position assists with monitoring financial resources, analyzing expenditures, developing budget projections, and supporting compliance with university, state, and federal financial policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.
  • This position requires a background check.
  • This position may also require a credit check.
  • The incumbent must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse by or against any student, employee, contractor, or visitor to the University’s Title IX Administrator or any divisional Title IX Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and monitor departmental budgets and expenditures to ensure alignment with approved funding and operational priorities.
  • Prepare financial reports, budget projections, and reconciliation analyses to support leadership decision-making and fiscal planning.
  • Assist with aligning financial aid resources with enrollment, retention, and awarding optimization strategies.
  • Review financial transactions and budget requests for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with university policies and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct financial and cost analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for operational efficiency.
  • Support reconciliation of financial aid accounts and funding sources, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate budget transfers, adjustments, and related financial transactions in university financial systems.
  • Develop and maintain budget tracking tools and reports to support departmental fiscal management and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Budget, Foundation, and other university departments to gather financial information and resolve budget-related issues.
  • Assist with audit preparation and documentation, including supporting internal and external reviews of financial records and processes.
  • Research funding sources, financial guidelines, and budgetary requirements to support departmental planning and resource management.
  • Prepare presentations, summaries, and reports for departmental leadership regarding budget status, projections, and financial analysis.
  • Support process improvement initiatives related to budgeting, reporting, and financial operations.
