About The Position

This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program (CSJ), an initiative to help young people between the ages of 15 - 30, particularly those facing barriers to employment, to get the information and gain the skills, work experience, and abilities they need to transition successfully in the labour market.

Requirements

  • Student in a community college or university social service program is an asset
  • Clear communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of verbal de-escalation skills.
  • Understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  • International students and other temporary residents of Canada are not eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Family Worker and Supervisor to facilitate safe supervised access visits and exchanges between parents and children.
  • Facilitates intakes and client appointments.
  • Responds to general program inquiries from community partners and potential clients.
  • Records objective court ready case notes.
