Student Extern
About The Position
The Student Extern is an adjunct to the patient care team. Under the general supervision of an RN, the extern provides direct patient care in accordance with established protocols and performs at the level successfully completed and passed in the clinical section at a local college. Newly hired externs initially function as nursing assistants, regardless of their nursing program clinical level. After the Supervisor clears the student, they may move to their appropriate skill level. Dallas Regional Medical Center is a 202-bed acute care hospital and a member of Prime Healthcare. Requirements
- Must be in the fourth year of a nursing program.
- Must be in good academic standing.
- Current Basic Life Support certification.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
