About The Position

RESPEC seeks a civil engineering intern for its Colorado Springs, Colorado location for the summer of 2026. The role supports the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater engineering projects, generally for public agencies and municipalities. Interdisciplinary work with environmental science staff is also anticipated. During the summer months, the position is full time at 40 hours per week. The typical hourly compensation range is $21 to $25, depending on education and experience, plus statutory insurance requirements.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering, with an interest in water and wastewater.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge or experience in AutoCAD or similar software and/or GIS.
• Strong problem-solving and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater engineering projects.
• Work with environmental science staff on interdisciplinary tasks.
