About The Position

Provides support for Student Activities, Student Government Association, and campus clubs. This role serves as the primary point of contact for students and visitors to the Student Center, advises the Student Government Association (SGA), and assists with various student engagement initiatives. The specialist will also manage social media accounts, support college-wide programs, and perform general office duties.

Requirements

  • Associates degree
  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Student Activity platforms (i.e. CampusGroups)
  • Experience working with special events
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds required.
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of all student information
  • Superb customer service skills
  • Strong computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office products

Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary point of contact for students and other visitors to the Student Center
  • Serves as advisor to the Student Government Association (SGA), attending meetings, assisting with budget development, expenditures, and allowable activities
  • Creates announcements, emails, and information with Campus Groups Student Engagement platform
  • Assists in the training of Student Government Association and club officers
  • Recruits students to serve on the Higher Education Student Assistant Authority (HESAA) Student Advisory Committee (SAC)
  • Serves as point of contact for Campus Group Platform and related activities
  • Assists with student needs as it relates to the Student Center and game rooms
  • Assists with the creation of student engagement promotion and advertisement materials
  • Oversees all social media accounts including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
  • Provides support to the assistant director with the planning and implementation of college-wide programs including but not limited to annual New Student Orientation programs and Commencement and related ceremonies
  • Assists with the preparation, setup, and breakdown of events
  • Assists with the scheduling of rooms/areas for events, activities, and meetings
  • Maintains and updates bulletin boards
  • Develops and maintains student government-related web pages and systems
  • Creates and posts weekly/monthly student activity announcements including updating the college calendar
  • Processes requisitions and work orders
  • Performs general office duties (process mail, maintain inventory of office supplies and event materials)
  • Assists students in the One Stop process as needed
  • Performs related duties as assigned
