About The Position

This full-time position involves developing and overseeing strategies to support students in their academic success and leadership. Will report directly to Vice President for Student Affairs and will engage in various critical functions.

Requirements

  • Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and organizational skills to manage a diverse and demanding workload.
  • Ability to model, teach, and aid students in developing strong communication skills.
  • Strong ability to build and steward relationships with educational institutions, community members, and non-profits; ability to work effectively with individuals from all communities and cultures.
  • Ability to leverage data to make informed programmatic decisions and improvements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications and virtual platforms such as Zoom and Teams.
  • Guide students in navigating the higher education process.
  • Counseling background required with knowledge of theoretical wellness models.
  • Understanding of FERPA and adherence to confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement student success and leadership strategies for students.
  • Work directly with funders to ensure alignment on available resources to support student needs and opportunities.
  • Assist with onboarding of new students and their families and ensure they are well-informed about available resources and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other student success areas within the university such as academic advising, tutorial resources, residential living, campus activities, civic engagement, etc.
  • Monitor and support the student’s academic progress and participation in the program.
  • Plan, develop, and facilitate networking events, enrichment activities, campus and/or community projects and other support tasks as identified.
  • Identify avenues or pathways regarding scholarship opportunities such as internships, study abroad programs, and master’s degree programs.
  • Compile and submit program data, required reports, or requests for information to the appropriate staff as required and permitted by law.
  • Collaborate with the Living Learning Communities Coordinators to plan, implement, and attend programming and activities that align with the LLC’s specific theme, aiming to build community and deepen engagement.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and events as require by respective student areas and programs.
  • Other duties may be assigned to this position on a regular or occasional basis to respond to the needs of the university.
