About The Position

As a Student Worker - Lab Technician at Zekelman Industries in Farrell, PA, you will play a key role in supporting our Technical Team through hands-on testing, analysis, and data management. This part-time, on-site role is ideal for a student pursuing a technical degree who enjoys problem-solving, working with data, and applying classroom knowledge in a real-world manufacturing environment. As this is a part-time position, hours will be determined based on the student's class schedule.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university, preferably in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science).
Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data and processes.
Committed to regular, predictable onsite attendance.
Promotes and adheres to health and safety practices in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
Able to pass drug test, physical, and background check.
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Performs mechanical testing of pipe and tubing samples to ensure product quality.
Conducts chemical testing of process tanks to maintain process integrity.
Analyzes data using Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods to identify trends and variances.
Performs hardness testing and records results accurately.
Inputs test data into computer systems and maintains organized digital records.
Scans and organizes order documentation and test backups.
Supports additional lab and technical projects as assigned.
