About The Position

This role is primarily responsible for growing the UCM Career and Life Design audience and brand visibility. The assistant will create marketing content, manage office-affiliated platforms, maintain an online presence, coordinate volunteers, assist with administrative operations, and support data and assessment projects. They will promote the Career and Life Design Center's mission and services, partner with other campus teams, and foster relationships with campus constituents to help students connect with their career development.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in UCM degree program
  • Well-versed in social media and various platforms, including, but not limited to TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube (familiarity with professional platforms such as LinkedIn and Handshake is a plus)
  • Willingness to learn and maintain accessibility requirements to ensure all digital marketing content adheres to accessibility standards (captions, alt-text, color contrast, etc.) and University branding guidelines
  • Working knowledge in creating and editing multimedia content, including graphics, short and long-form video, and audio assets to maintain brand consistency
  • Communication, presentation, and public speaking skills
  • Organizational, project, and time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist with office and event project management through various projects for Events, Marketing, and Data Manager, and the Assistant Director of Faculty & Employer Partnerships
  • Create marketing content for all center events and initiatives and assist management of office-affiliated platforms (Handshake, LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and others), excluding the Mule Mindset Podcast platforms and socials
  • Maintain an active online (social media, website management) and email presence to communicate with students, alumni, faculty, employers, etc.
  • Coordinate volunteers as needed for Spring and Fall career fairs, to include solicitation of volunteers and scheduling volunteer staff
  • Assist with day-to-day office administrative operations, including but not limited to email and phone management
  • Assist with and manage providing opportunities for students to interact with future employers and on-campus recruiters, including hall tables and informational sessions
  • Support data and assessment projects, including collection and management
  • Promote the Career and Life Design Center's mission, vision, and services through active marketing engagement in person and online
  • Partner with W.I.S.E. coaches and the Professional Clothing Studio team to align marketing content and event promotions.
  • Foster partnerships and relationships with campus community constituents through events and marketing initiatives
  • Help UCM students get connected, integrated, and engaged with their career development
