About The Position

This is a part-time student employee position within the Admissions Office, reporting to the Student Recruitment Coordinator. The role involves conducting campus tours for prospective students and parents, assisting at the front desk, and performing various administrative tasks to support the admissions process. The position requires maintaining academic progress and confidentiality of student information.

Requirements

  • Must maintain satisfactory academic progress (minimum 2.0 GPA, not on academic probation, and in good standing at JJC).
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at JJC during fall/spring semester.
  • Maintain Confidentiality of student information.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Dependable.
  • Basic computer and data entry experience and knowledge helpful.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tours to prospective students and parents.
  • Assist at the Admissions front desk, including answering phones and greeting customers.
  • Assemble packets for mailing.
  • Alphabetize and file admissions records.
  • Prepare forms for scanning.
  • Assist in the maintenance and updating of student records (high school transcripts and ACT scores).
  • Photocopy, scan, and fax documents.
  • Assist with the distribution of daily mail.
  • Deliver materials to internal departments.
  • Assist with campus events organized by Admissions, such as College Fair and Discover JJC.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
