About The Position

The Student Driver Trainee is an entry-level role for individuals preparing to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) or professional driving certification. Under the supervision of experienced drivers and trainers, trainees receive classroom instruction and practical, on-the-road training to develop the knowledge and skills needed to become safe, competent commercial or professional drivers. Successful completion of the training program may qualify trainees for full-time employment as a CDL Driver.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass a DOT physical exam, drug screening, and background check.
Willingness to learn and follow safety regulations and driving best practices.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
At least 18 years of age.
Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

Attend and actively participate in classroom and behind-the-wheel training sessions.
Learn to operate commercial vehicles.
Follow company procedures and protocols for vehicle inspection, maintenance, and operations.
Observe and practice proper vehicle handling, maneuvering, and defensive driving techniques.
Comply with federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations.
Maintain a clean and safe driving record throughout the training program.
Demonstrate professionalism and customer service when interacting with clients, passengers, or other stakeholders.
Complete assigned routes.
Service portable restrooms, hand wash stations, and other company equipment to meet or exceed company service standards.
Complete and pass required written and road tests to obtain necessary driving certifications.
