About The Position

This is a student position within the Food and Nutrition department, functioning as a Dietary Student Aide. The role involves providing food service for patients, employees, and staff. The associate will be responsible for preparing assembly line stations, assembling patient trays, transporting food carts, managing garbage disposal, washing dishes, and sanitizing pots and pans. The position emphasizes the importance of proper sanitation procedures and safe body mechanics.

Requirements

• Must be at least sixteen years of age.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand written and oral communication.

• Some experience desirable but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Prepares assembly line station for patient supper tray service in a timely manner.
• Assembles food items for supper patient tray service according to marked menus.
• Transports supper food carts to and from designated areas on patient floors in a safe and timely manner.
• Collects all garbage in Dietary and Cafeteria areas and transports to compactor/incinerator in a timely manner.
• Scrapes and washes all dishware from patient trays and employee cafeteria according to department sanitation procedures.
• Scrubs and sanitizes all pots and pans and organizes in designated area.
• Utilizes proper body mechanics to prevent injuries.
• Provide the best room service has to offer.
