About The Position

The Student Data Clerk position at Cotton Indian Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year is responsible for managing and reporting student data to support instructional improvement and school strategic planning. This role involves preparing various reports, performing data entry, maintaining data files, and ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of information. The clerk will collaborate with school leadership and district departments to align school improvement efforts with strategic goals and support student progress monitoring.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE), required.
  • Experience preparing academic data to impact instruction and school strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of data processing software.
  • Ability to design and format data files and tables, and to modify and update structures.
  • Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
  • Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
  • Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
  • Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
  • Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare reports using local, state, and national assessment data related to individual student performance and school improvement.
  • Perform data entry for state and local reporting purposes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop and maintain historical student and school data files to monitor and track performance.
  • Compile data from multiple assessments to create student, subject, grade-level, or school achievement profiles.
  • Prepare assessment data for administrators and teachers to support Continuous School Improvement action steps and Strategic Plan Tactics.
  • Assist with staff training on using data to improve student outcomes.
  • Ensure the validity of all presented data.
  • Support student scheduling activities.
  • Maintain the integrity of confidential student and staff information.
  • Collaborate with the District and School Performance Department and other divisions.
  • Attend and participate in assigned meetings, trainings, and workshops.
  • Create user-friendly reports for stakeholders.
  • Follow professional practices consistent with local school and system policies.
  • Work directly with school leadership to ensure school improvement efforts align with strategic actions.
  • Support schools in executing the district process for consistently monitoring student progress.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
