About The Position

This is an added duty contract position for a Student Council Advisor. The advisor will serve as a liaison between coaches and the administration, communicate with participants, parents, and administrators, and set an example through a high code of conduct. Responsibilities include following safety procedures, understanding and adhering to NSBSD and specific activity policies, and being responsible for the annual review of the Coaches’ and the Parent and Student Handbooks. Ensuring student welfare is paramount in decision-making and completing mandatory trainings are also key duties. Specific duties involve meeting with students to support their learning of running a formal meeting, coordinating with the Principal on developing student projects, and submitting an Activity Report with photos if available. Compensation is per the negotiated agreement and may be prorated based on meeting responsibilities.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent required
Ability to pass a background Check

Nice To Haves

AK Driver's license preferred

Responsibilities

Complete the Mandatory Trainings (Training Verification Check List Coaching and Activity Adviser Staff) on/or before the first contract day.
Meet with students and support student learning of running a formal meeting.
Coordinate with Principal on developing the eight (8) student projects.
Turn in Activity Report, attach photos (if any).
