About The Position

Associated Students Inc., CSUF provides student development opportunities through leadership, volunteer, and employment experiences. In addition, the Associated Students provides campus community members with important social, cultural, and recreational opportunities, as well as, a wide range of programs and services. Under supervision of the Director of Organizational Communication and Outreach, the Communications Student Assistant will play a vital role in assisting with the day-to-day creation, posting, and planning of campaigns and activities to help strengthen engagement with students, campus, and ASI.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled California State University Fullerton student in good academic standing.
  • Bloodborne Pathogens training
  • Campus Health and Safety Requirements training
  • CSU’S Discrimination Harassment Prevention Program training
  • Data Security and FERPA training
  • Gender Equity and Title IX training
  • Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) training within 30 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in copy editing is preferred
  • Knowledge of AP Style preferred

Responsibilities

  • Write for print and digital platforms, providing a distinct, cohesive brand voice and clear content strategy for targeted audiences.
  • Mark copy to indicate and correct errors in type, arrangement, grammar, punctuation, or spelling, using standard printers' marks.
  • Read corrected copies or proofs to ensure that all corrections have been made.
  • Route proofs with marked corrections to authors, editors, typists, or typesetters for correction or reprinting.
  • Provide quality, professional, friendly, and courteous customer service with everyone.
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with various A.S. and University departments.
  • Ensures all operations are conducted with safety of staff and customers as first priority, and in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and other safety policies.
  • Reports accidents to supervisor and reviews changes required to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Reports maintenance problems and/or broken and unsafe equipment to the appropriate party or supervisor immediately.
