About The Position
This is a fast-paced, 17-day state-certified nurse aide training program. To be considered for the class, applicants must provide a completed application, valid photo identification, and Social Security card at the time of the interview. Due to the short duration of the class, no absences or tardiness are permitted, and students must maintain a grade average of 85 to continue. A deposit of $30 for books and supplies is required on the first day and will be returned upon graduation. Students will also need to purchase one set of scrubs to wear daily. A criminal background check and registry checks (Tennessee and/or National Abuse Registry for Children and Adults) will be conducted. Individuals with felony convictions, certain misdemeanor charges, or those listed on the abuse registry cannot be admitted. Students accepted into the class will be notified by phone on or before the Friday before the class at 10:00 AM. Selection is based on facility need, shift availability, entrance exam score, candidate flexibility, previous work history, and attitude. Employment opportunities may be available upon successful completion of the course.
