About The Position

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to fill the General Biology and Chemistry Lab Assistant role for the fall semester. The lab assistant will work with faculty members to help set up and take down of the biology and chemistry labs weekly. This is a part-time, hourly position.

Requirements

Full-time enrollment in an undergraduate degree at SNHU.
Work study part of financial aid package.
Completion of relevant course work in the subject area (General Biology and Chemistry).
Availability on Monday and/or Tuesday is a must, but will have hours on other days based on agreed upon schedule.
Ability to work independently.
Team player.
Flexible, creative, and self-reliant.
Punctual.
Communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Microbiology lab experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

Taking inventory of lab equipment and consumables.
Restocking supplies as needed and reporting to instructors when inventory is low.
Setting up equipment for weekly laboratory exercises.
Prepping chemical reagents and biological specimens as needed for weekly laboratory exercise.
Cleaning of glassware and take-down of equipment after laboratory exercises.
Disposing of waste generated during labs.
Maintain a tidy and safe workspace.
