About The Position

Student Chemistry Laboratory Assistants support Science Faculty by preparing, cleaning, and maintaining laboratory spaces and play an important role in promoting the Science Department's mission of giving students hands-on experience in laboratory settings. This position is for the 2026-2027 academic year, beginning Fall 2026. The role averages 8-10 hours per week.

Requirements

• Be enrolled and registered as a CSP student (PSEO students are not eligible).
• Have a United States social security number.
• Have proper identification as determined by Form I-9.
• Be in good standing with CSP academic requirements and student accounts.
• Have declared a major with CSP.

Nice To Haves

• For summer employment, priority will be given to the student employees who are enrolled and registered in summer courses.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and collect supplies and reagents to be used in their assigned labs.
• Communicate with faculty about lab conditions that need faculty attention (ordering supplies, equipment maintenance, etc).
• Maintain clean lab and prep spaces.
• Wash and put away used glassware.
• Assist faculty with lab maintenance related projects.
