About The Position

Analytical Resource Laboratories (ARL) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Lab Assistant I in Chemistry. This entry-level position is ideal for science enthusiasts looking to gain practical experience in a third-party contract laboratory setting. The role involves supporting laboratory operations, including sample preparation, testing, cleaning, and record-keeping, under the guidance of a Team Lead or Laboratory Manager. ARL specializes in microbiological and chemical testing for food, cosmetics, and dietary supplements, and values a proactive, "can-do" attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Currently matriculated in a four-year institution of higher education and majoring in Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related discipline.
  • General analytical chemistry lab experience required (1 year).
  • Fluency in English a must, verbally and in writing.
  • Able to lift at least 50lbs.
  • Able to work within a schedule that allows for testing to be completed and reported on time.
  • Available to work weekends.
  • Abide by ARL’s drug testing, background check, and drug-free policies.
  • Follow work schedule and attendance/time off requirements.
  • Communicate professionally with team members and leadership to resolve any issues.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Follow established and proper procedure for conflict resolution.
  • Able to handle fast-paced, high-pressured work demands with confidence and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate success in being a team player.
  • Successful completion of all proficiency testing, administrative and HR trainings, and onboarding procedures.
  • Knowledge of metric system, scientific applications, experimental design, and data evaluation.
  • Ability to work in GMP/GLP environment.
  • An excellent ability to keep calm under pressure and stay focused to successfully fulfill responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain and build team morale at all times.
  • Ability to skillfully and professionally adapt to changing demands.
  • Must have U.S. work authorization in order to be employed.
  • Must live within 50 miles of location.

Responsibilities

  • Complete sample preparation and testing in a timely manner, according to approved SOP’s and correct techniques.
  • Classify and label samples, according to established protocol.
  • Clean and sterilize laboratory workspace and equipment.
  • Provide support for lab-specific waste management.
  • Maintain proper laboratory records.
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness at all times.
  • Accountable and responsible for proper laboratory practices.
  • Compliance with ARL standards and policies.
  • Perform all duties and projects, as assigned by ARL leadership.
  • Comply with ALL ARL workplace policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
  • Adhere to all GLP, GMP, and ISO regulations as they pertain to the position’s functions and duties.
  • Successfully complete all training, including skills and proficiency testing, within required timeframe.
  • Complete special project as assigned.
