Requirements

Strong knowledge of the general principles, practices, and emerging trends within the student-athlete field.
Solid understanding of both CSULB and NCAA rules and regulations.
Awareness of the unique issues and academic complexities facing student-athletes.
Strong skills in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support informed decision-making.
Adept at interpreting and applying policies, rules, and regulations.
Ability to work effectively and inclusively within a culturally diverse environment.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.
Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Equivalent to graduation from a 4-year college or university in the areas of Liberal Arts, Behavioral Sciences or Kinesiology.
Two years of professional experience in one student services or related areas required.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the year-round academic advising and support services for specific NCAA teams.
Responsible for all academic advising for specific NCAA teams including the interpretation of all NCAA/ CSULB rules and regulations, as well as calculations for NCAA progress towards degree requirements, GE requirements, major courses, etc.
Assist in the planning, coordination and delivery of BEACHAMPION program.
Assist the Directors of the BAC with Administrative tasks.
Maintain working knowledge and comply with all NCAA compliance, Big West Conference, Athletic Department and CSULB rules and regulations that apply to working with the NCAA student-Athlete population.
