Purpose Peer advisors act as the administrative front line for the advising suite for undeclared Liberal Arts students. They perform everyday administrative tasks on the student’s behalf, such as dropping classes, changing majors, and creating appointments with advisors. They do not advise students on which classes to take, but they do connect students with the appropriate academic advisors. Peer advisors provide accurate information to the students, faculty, and staff who rely on the Student Division for information on UT and College of Liberal Arts policies and procedures. This information may be given over the phone, through email, or in person. The ideal candidate will also have a background in customer service, a strong sense of integrity and confidentiality, and must be able to demonstrate the ability to take initiative. Perform other office tasks as needed. Hiring for 2026 summer (beginning in June 2026) to continue in Fall and Spring Terms. Please do not apply if you are unable to work this summer. All necessary training will be provided.
