About The Position
Work as a peer academic advisor on behalf of the Physics Program.
Requirements
- Little to minimal prior experience
- Ability to learn support process
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- FERPA training is required
Responsibilities
- Respond to student inquiries in a timely manner
- Identify current and potential needs of students and refer them to the appropriate faculty advisor
- Maintain detailed and accurate advising notes
- Document all pertinent student information
- Assist students with registration and provides guidance on course selection
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Program Director, Academic Advising Center, and faculty advisers
- Assist in developing and giving presentations to students at campus-wide advising events including New Student Orientation
- Perform other duties as assigned
