About The Position

The Student Assistant will support the Performance Excellence Department in initiatives aimed at improving the quality, safety, efficiency, and overall performance of the hospital. This role offers hands-on experience in healthcare quality improvement, data analysis, project coordination, and process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act).

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• 3 Years experience with Microsoft Office Software Programs (Required)
• Must be a College Student

Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting related to performance improvement projects.
• Support process mapping, workflow analysis, and identification of inefficiencies in clinical and administrative areas.
• Prepare presentation materials, reports, dashboards, and summaries for project meetings and leadership briefings.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews.
• Conduct literature reviews and best practice research as needed for improvement projects.
• Assist in tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitoring progress toward departmental goals.
• Maintain organized documentation of project timelines, deliverables, and outcomes.
• Take initiative to work independently on assigned tasks, managing time effectively and ensuring timely completion with minimal supervision.
• Perform general administrative support as required by the department.
