About The Position
The Student Assistant Specialist will cultivate and maintain Literaty Studies events throughout the academic year. This position requires a student who is a great communicator and community-minded, who is organized, responsible and willing to promote a live and active departmental culture.
Requirements
- A Literaty Studies undergraduate student
- Expertise with social media and event planning
Responsibilities
- Maintains departmental instagram through weekly posts about departmental events, advertising upcoming internships, open publications for students to submit and internship and job opportunities.
- Create compelling faculty, student and alumni highlights on instagram.
- Photographs major departmental events to post in the media.
- Conducts faculty interviews regarding their new book publications in order to post in the media.
- Assist (particularly after hours) with large events in terms of set up, clean up and overall organization.
- Investigates alumni who have published books or have landed in jobs related to Literary Studies in order to feature in the media.
