About The Position

The Freeman Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is the only one of its kind in the four-state area, providing specialized care for premature and critically ill infants using state-of-the-art technology. This Level III, 24-bed unit is equipped to handle critically ill or premature babies and is staffed by board-certified neonatologists. The unit utilizes pod nursing for efficiency, patient supervision, and infection control. In honor of its 20th anniversary, the Freeman NICU received the Angel Eye NICU Camera System, a secure web-based system allowing parents to remotely view their child via a live feed from a camera mounted to the baby's bed, providing 24-hour access to help ease the pain of separation.

Requirements

If a CNA license was held prior to starting nursing program, the employee may be considered for a Student Assistant Program.
Currently enrolled in RN nursing program and beginning final semester of nursing school.
Currently enrolled in RN or LPN nursing program and have successfully completed first semester of nursing courses.
Must successfully pass Patient Care Orientation (PCO) within 30 days of hire.
AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 30 days.
NT Competency Day Annually by transcript due date.

Responsibilities

Under the direction/supervision of a nurse, provides basic nursing care needs for assigned patients.
