This opportunity is for on-site archival interns who will be responsible for performing processing of analog collections, drafting finding aids, creating a physical archival display, digitizing analog items, uploading and adding metadata to JBC Commons, as well as work with on-site researchers for appointments in the reading room. Students will be supervised by campus archivists. They will be introduced to the “More product, less process” archival accessioning practice and will also learn the basics of archiving best practices from the Society of American Archivists guidelines. They will handle a potential collection from the preliminary processing stage to finished collection in the archives, under supervised practice. They will also be expected to select a topic to research and display in one display case as an archival exhibit.
