About The Position

This position will work under the supervision of a lab assistant to prepare and install lab equipment and supplies for student and faculty use. The assistant will also help with daily lab operations, restock electronic components, perform basic testing and problem identification on lab equipment, and configure lab facilities, including installing new equipment. Other duties may include general office work like mail delivery and assisting instructors in electrical labs. The successful candidate will work up to 20 hours per week.

Requirements

• Must be a current MVCC student enrolled in 6+ credit hours in EET, EST, or Air Conditioning Technology program
• Must be familiar with electronic components and able to identify parts using specification sheets and/or catalogs
• Must be able to read schematic diagrams and identify symbols and wiring
• Must be able to operate basic test equipment, including digital multimeter, oscilloscope, and function generator
• Must be familiar with basic computer use and related software
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds

Responsibilities

• Prepare and install lab equipment/supplies for student/faculty use
