About The Position

This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity for a current student to gain valuable work experience while contributing to Lake Sumter State College's success. The Student Assistant will provide essential support, working closely with faculty and staff to ensure the efficient operation of departmental activities. This is a part-time position with an expected commitment of 20-25 hours per week. The schedule will be flexible to accommodate the student’s academic and other responsibilities. Responsible for demonstrating LSSC’s Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating values. Students cannot work during scheduled class times.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled at Lake Sumter State College (min. 6 credit hours)
• Currently, hold and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
• Minimum age of 18

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments
• Provide a friendly atmosphere by greeting customers and vendors, focusing on their positive experience throughout their visit
• Assist with maintaining accurate inventory through routine cycle counts
• Keep the store looking fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products or space within the store
• Perform other duties as assigned
