Our team is seeking a Student Assistant for our Bureau of Field Services Team. We are looking for someone who can embrace the challenges of meeting our goals and exceeding the standards! This position is responsible for assisting professional staff in using and updating various signal related databases, compiling and assessing crash data, populating spreadsheets, and drafting correspondence for signal related studies. The student receives training and experience in traffic signal operations. The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of the Student Assistant position. Requirements

• Current enrollment in vocational or technical school, or post-secondary educational institution.
• MDOT requires enrollment in at least 6 credit hours per semester/term excluding summers and continuously enrolled and earning the required credits.
• No specific type or amount of experience is required.
• Must submit proof of enrollment which includes unofficial transcripts, an acceptance letter from the college/university (as long as it is for the upcoming semester/term), copy of current semester/term schedule, or a receipt of tuition payment that shows a balance of $0.00.
• Failure to attach proof of enrollment may result in you being screened out of the process.
• All newly hired state employees are required to submit and pass a pre-employment drug test and physical (if applicable) prior to their actual appointment.
• Criminal and driving records will also be checked if applicable.
• Any position offer will be conditional until results of the drug test, physical, criminal background, and driving records indicate eligibility for employment.
• The use of artificial intelligence (AI) software of any kind is prohibited in all areas of the selection process including, but not limited to, responses to application questions and responses to interview questions or exercises.
