About The Position

Saint Louis University (SLU), a Catholic university founded in 1818, is seeking a Student and Administrative Support Coordinator for its School of Law. This role provides comprehensive administrative support to the Office of the Dean, with a particular focus on student and guest support. The position involves coordinating administrative tasks related to students and guests, including travel, business process support, and event support. Additionally, the coordinator will assist various departments with communication, event planning, and daily office operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Three years of relevant experience in administrative or event support roles, ideally in an academic setting.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite, and various web applications.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, including the ability to manage inquiries and issues effectively.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Program coordination, organization, and planning skills.
  • Ability to counsel students and provide advice to faculty and staff with appropriate care and concern.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support to the Dean’s Office and the law school, focusing on business and administrative processes for students and guests.
  • Ensures consistency of process and compliance with University policies for all law departments.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for visitors to the Dean’s Suite (in-person, phone, email/online) and manages inquiries.
  • Manages all of the law school's student workers.
  • Manages the mailroom for incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Coordinates travel arrangements, maintains calendars, and duplicates/distributes materials for student and guest travel.
  • Assists with travel reimbursements and ensures expense compliance with university policies.
  • Maintains digital and physical files related to travel and events.
  • Answers and returns telephone calls and emails, interprets policies and procedures, and may develop procedures for assigned areas.
  • Handles confidential issues and sensitive records with discretion and judgment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
