About The Position

The Desktop Support Specialist provides frontline technical support to faculty, staff and students at the School of Law, ensuring reliable day-to-day technology and a positive first point of contact for IT services.

Requirements

  • Current or recent experience providing IT customer service and desktop support.
  • Experience supporting macOS computers in a networked environment.
  • Experience supporting Windows 10.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal, nonverbal, and written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and independently with limited direction.
  • Ability to maintain and manage information and documentation in an organized manner.
  • Experience or willingness to train to perform basic networking functions and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting common applications and suites (e.g., Microsoft Office 365).
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Recent experience providing IT support in a higher education environment.
  • Recent experience providing training and support for a LMS.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 desktop support, including responding to help requests, and installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading computer hardware (PC and Mac), software, and related equipment to keep workstations running smoothly.
  • Leads new employee IT orientations.
  • Maintains accurate, up-to-date records across support ticketing and inventory systems.
  • Responds promptly to urgent or emergency issues, evaluating problems and taking proper action to resolve them quickly.
  • Serves as the school’s Canvas administrator, supporting course setup, access, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Provides backup audio-visual support for the Media Services team as needed.
  • Other related responsibilities and functions as assigned.
