About The Position

Designs, implements and manages an assigned program. Typical duties can include but are not limited to: Identify funding opportunities, conduct program assessments, prepare program reports, oversee and manage program marketing and communications, manage program databases, supervise program staff, plan research activities, coordinate program events, participate in strategic planning, manage program files, establish program standards and objectives, direct logistical activities to promote the success of programs, develop and implement project timelines and ensures deadlines are met, oversee program budget, ensure goals and objectives of grants are met, assists in proposal writing, comply and analyze program statistics. 1) Strategic Program Leadership & Student Development Management (40%) Provides strategic direction and oversight for weekly SAB programs and four standing committee portfolios, establishing priorities, determining program feasibility, and ensuring alignment with institutional goals, brand identity standards, and risk-management expectations. Designs and administers developmental frameworks for student leaders, setting planning methodologies, operational standards, and professional expectations; evaluates program proposals and approves final event plans and deliverables. Oversees and manages committee budgets, including forecasting, spending authorization, contract and vendor negotiations, and reconciliation processes; ensures full compliance with university financial controls, procurement policies, and audit regulations. Exercises independent judgment in deciding resource allocation, operational workflows, student leadership readiness, and event viability; authorizes adjustments that impact program scope, risk posture, and financial performance. 2) SAB Engagement Strategy, Space Utilization & Partnership Development (20%) Develops and leads the SAB engagement strategy including indoor, outdoor, and passive programming by determining programmatic priorities, approving event concepts, and ensuring optimal use of building spaces in partnership with Event & Guest Services. Establishes requirements for facility usage, AV needs, event setups, and logistical specifications; reviews and approves diagrams, service orders, and accessibility plans to ensure alignment with safety regulations, operational standards, and customer-experience goals. Cultivates and manages strategic partnerships with campus departments, student organizations, and external collaborators; authorizes co-sponsored events and maintains governance of the master programming calendar to ensure strategic alignment and avoid conflicts. 3) Event Operations Governance, Risk Mitigation Strategy & Financial Compliance (30%) Provides administrative oversight for all risk-management documentation including risk forms, incident reports, permits, contracts, and insurance requests, by interpreting policy requirements and approving submissions in alignment with university, legal, and operational regulations. Establishes and governs event-execution standards, including run-of-show frameworks, staffing models, logistics protocols, and load-in/out processes; directs student staff and volunteers to ensure consistent, compliant, high-quality program delivery. Oversees procurement and financial compliance processes by authorizing expenditures, managing encumbrances and POs, verifying pro-card adherence, and maintaining audit-ready financial documentation according to institutional policy. Serves as a subject-matter expert on event-related risk, contracting requirements, and compliance obligations, providing authoritative guidance and interpreting policy to ensure organizational consistency and adherence. 4) Program Assessment & Strategic Planning (10%) Develops and implements assessment strategies to evaluate program effectiveness, participation, and student engagement; analyzes data to identify trends and recommend program improvements. Establishes annual goals, performance metrics, and operational priorities aligned with departmental and institutional objectives. Prepares program evaluations, reports, and recommendations by analyzing assessment results, attendance, budget performance, and stakeholder feedback to support decision-making. Leads continuous improvement efforts by reviewing operational practices, implementing process enhancements, and establishing standards that strengthen program quality and organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and four years of experience developing or managing programs or projects.
  • Additional job related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
