About The Position

This Federal Work Study position is designed to advance student retention through a wide range of activities. The Student Life department plans events focused on social, academic, multicultural, health, and safety, volunteer services, and civic engagement. This role involves working with the Director of Student Life and Recreation Activities to develop events and activities across a broad spectrum of topics. Responsibilities include research, creating publicity, hanging flyers, filing, and other duties associated with department operations, event planning, and student development and retention.

Requirements

  • Must be a current degree-seeking student enrolled in at least 6 credits.
  • Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
  • Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.
  • Must be eligible to receive FWS based on financial need and eligibility requirements determined by FAFSA.
  • Experience with Canva.
  • Experience with various Social Media platforms.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to plan and organize.

Responsibilities

  • Develop events and activities around a large spectrum of topics.
  • Research topics for events and activities.
  • Create publicity for events.
  • Hang flyers.
  • File documents.
  • Perform other job duties associated with the department and event planning and student development and retention.
